Produce better outcomes.

As a leader of innovation, I’ve helped organizations change their product offerings, improve their marketing and business strategies and increase sales. I have experience uncovering user insights through design research, data analytics and behavioral science, as well as a background in traditional marketing research. My skills include extensive agile prototyping in services and products and executive-level business strategy development.

“As I look back on a tumultuous year, our work with you was truly a highlight. I now believe we have a strong direction for our company.”

Founder / Owner, Danforth Pewter

Client: University of New England

I have raised the visibility of innovation and user-experience design at Maine’s largest private university. Inspiring the creation of a new Office of Innovation, this function was elevated to the top level of the university’s website. I have established new signature events and programs, brought funders into our work and designed an Innovation Showcase, highlighting the work of students. The students speak of their personal transformations as part of their work with human-centered design and it has become the signature VIP event of the university. The university highlighted my work in Downeast magazine, and I was recognized as a 2022 Mainer of the Year by Maine magazine.

Client: National Museum of Natural History

As a consultant to one of the most-visited museums in the world, I used the tools and techniques of human-centered design to improve the visitor experience. My role was to work with scientists, visitors and staff to identify a way to communicate natural history science in a more engaging way – creating not just new experiences but a sustainable and predictable process that educators could use going forward. The resulting activities improved engagement by up to 300% and the new process reduced development time substantially. I developed a Facilitation Toolkit and Method Cards to teach the new methodology, and led a class on creative engagement in museums for Harvard’s Extension School.

Client: FPGirl.com

At FPGirl.com (a technology and manufacturing start-up), I led the creation of a new online user experience for our customers – creatively engaging them in product decisions, contest and conversations. The new strategy exceeded every expectation. In six months, girls submitted over 75,000 responses and we hit one million registered users. Sales jumped nearly 500% and the results transformed the direction of the brand.

Client: Iridium (a Motorola start-up)

Iridium was an ambitious low-earth based satellite network that would enable a new type of global communications. I was responsible for start-up business operations in Thailand, China and Taiwan. When I saw that our 15 international service providers had no way to share learnings and solutions, I developed a technology solution that was deployed globally and immediately enabled the offices to coordinate more effectively.
