It’s fun to see what this bathroom looked like BEFORE the makeover.  Do you think it’s an improvement?!  This family loves dogs and it was a great theme for a bath shared by boys and girls. I designed the coordinating shower curtain.  The rest of the accessories were from Target (purchased on ebay since Target had sold out).

Notice that some of the bathroom tiles are painted as well.  I’ve used this technique on several bathrooms and it’s a great way to add color and interest without changing all the tiles.  To paint tile, start with BIN (shellac-based primer) from Zinsser.  It’s smelly but adheres really well (I’ve also heard that you can use Gripper and XIM primer for the same purpose).  Once your tiles are primed, just paint over the tiles with a high-quality latex paint.  It’s easy!
